a Tizer solo show
show #5 - Pristina, Kosovo
Home is the first part of an ongoing series titled ‘The Cities I Love’ in which Tizer will travel back to cities he has been and create pieces all based around his experiences and love for these places. The title of this show represents his time in Pristina, once a holiday destination and now being somewhere he calls home.
Tizer has been doing graffiti art since 1988 and is known as one of the most prolific artists on the graffiti/street art scene. After spending his childhood in the USA, he arrived in London and soon became an ambassador for the UK graffiti scene, organizing jams within his city and looking after traveling artists. His devotion towards the recognition of graffiti as an art form and a peaceful culture is to thank until today, as it resulted in the legalization of many spots across London.
Famous for painting punk icon Malcolm McLaren’s coffin, Tizer nowadays works on murals and exhibits his art across the world. He combines original letters to a unique illustrative style of characters, often depicting the local atmosphere and protagonists wherever he is painting. His work is heavily influenced by hip hop culture, mixing street energy and movements with fun as a core ingredient.
